Our Story
Small Beginnings with Big Dreams
On June 01, 2026, four community-minded professionals sat down at Blackberry Market in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to discuss what would become Devoted Communities. Once an idea carried by founder Molly Johns, the vision grew and became reality with the hard work and passion of founding members Caleb Cox, Jamie Johnson, and Jessica Soule. Together, they built Devoted Communities into the organization it is today. Devoted Communities is in the process of becoming formally incorporated in the sate of Arkansas.

Devon's Story
Devoted Communities was named for founder Molly Johns’ younger brother, Devon Young, who passed away in August 2025. Devon was a compassionate and loving brother, friend, and son. He never shied away from a chance to make a friend, and he always went out of his way to help those in need. Devon built community every day. It is his heart that inspired the foundation of Devoted Communities and his spirit which keeps it alive.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

We recognize the effects of trauma on our community and intentionally plan for and address trauma through our work using evidence-based practices

CULTURAL HUMILITY
As an organization, we honor the unique experiences of our community, seeking diverse perspectives and learning from those we serve.

STRENGTHS-BASED
Our community is ripe with potential. In both direct practice and organizational work, we highlight the skills, knowledge, and experiences of our community.

EMPOWERMENT
Our work centers client voice, choice, and agency. Everything we do is to increase our community’s ability to care for itself and each individual’s belief in their self-efficacy.
